Job Description

Prestigious financial services firm in Chicago seeks a talented Sr. Network Engineer to design, implement and support a large network infrastructure. The Network Architect is responsible for the design, build and test of an enterprise network infrastructure. This person is responsible for developing strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies. Implementation of the network design is required, so current hand on experience with Cisco Nexus, F5 LTM/GTM technologies is expected.
Responsibilities include:
  • Translating business requirements into network or process designs;
  • Planning and recommending network hardware, systems management software and architecture;
  • Approving and modifying network design and architecture to ensure compliance;
  • Configuring and maintaining Routers, Switches and hubs for the network systems (including wireless and VoIP);
  • Evaluating and recommending new products;
  • Maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise; monitoring network performance and ensuring capacity planning is performed.
  • The Network Architect is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement and performs troubleshooting procedures and designs resolution scripts.
Requirements
Ideal candidate will possess:
  • Minimum of 10 years previous network planning, design, and optimization
  • CCNA certification a must, CCNP or CCIE certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cisco NX-OS/IOS expertise and demonstrable knowledge a must.
  • Expertise in routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP. Must be hands on currently. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills
